Dr. Chris Dortch
Pastor Chris has been serving in ministry since 1993 and has served as the Lead Pastor of First Baptist Church since January of 2015. He is a graduate of Liberty University as well as Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. Chris and his wife Cheryl have been married since May 1992 and have one son, Carson. Their son and daughter-in-law, Carson and Jessica, live in Charlotte, NC.
Christopher has been leading worship since he was in high school and has been on staff at First Baptist Church since February of 2016. He is a graduate of Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio and currently studying Theology at Liberty University. Christopher and his wife Naomi have been married since 2012. They have one three-year old daughter, Clara, and a one-year old son named Henry.
Charlie has been on staff at First Baptist Church since August of 2015. He provides direct leadership to our middle and high school ministries and also provides oversight to our children's programs and is responsible for planning church-wide fellowships. He is a graduate of Liberty University and he holds a Masters from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. Charlie is a newlywed after having married his wife Sarah in October 2017.
We are blessed to have DJ helping us in the office with the day to day work of the church. DJ has been in the business/corporate environment for over 18 years as an administrative assistant, office manager, project assistant and specialist in staff resourcing. The love of the South and breeding horses brought her and her husband, Kim, to Mt. Sterling in 2014.
Walt has been on staff at First Baptist Church since August of 2014. He is in charge of the day-to-day management of church facilities and vehicles. He provides oversight to service contractors as well as oversight to custodial maintenance.
Jordon joined our staff as a Student Intern in January 2018. He is 2015 graduate of Montgomery County High School. He has surrendered to God's call on his life to vocational ministry and has plans of pursuing an undergrad degree in Pastoral Leadership. He has been dating Makenzie Shrout since 2012 and she is a student at Morehead State University.
